Child Safety Policy

The safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do.

🚫 ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: Just For Purpose has zero tolerance for child abuse, exploitation, coercion, or any form of harm to children. Any violations will be reported to authorities immediately.

Our Commitment

Just For Purpose is built on the principle that children deserve dignity, safety, and opportunity. Every decision we make — from how artwork is photographed to how proceeds are managed — is guided by the child's best interest.

We commit to creating an environment where children feel safe, respected, and celebrated as the talented creators they are. This policy is not just a legal document — it is a statement of our values.

Legal Framework & Compliance

✅ We comply fully with the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Amendment Act, 2016 and the DPDP Act 2023.

  • Not employment: Children participate as artists and creators in a voluntary NGO-facilitated program. This is expressly NOT employment under Indian law. No employment contract, wage relationship, or labour arrangement exists between Just For Purpose and any child.
  • Permitted creative activity: Children's participation in cultural and artistic activities is explicitly permitted under the Child Labour Act, provided it does not harm their education or wellbeing.
  • Age compliance: All child participants are school-enrolled students. We do not engage children below the age of school-going age (typically 5+).

Education First

  • All creative activities are conducted outside school hours — evenings, weekends, and school holidays only.
  • Participation schedules are designed to not interfere with studies, homework, or rest.
  • If a child's school performance is negatively affected, participation is immediately suspended until the child is back on track academically.
  • All proceeds from artwork sales are directed toward educational expenses — tuition, books, uniforms, and educational materials.

Parental Consent

  • Written parental or guardian consent is mandatory before any child joins the program, submits artwork, is photographed, or has their story shared publicly.
  • Consent is specific, informed, and freely given. Parents are clearly told what they are consenting to, in language they understand.
  • Parents and guardians may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. Upon withdrawal, the child's data and content will be promptly removed.
  • On the digital art submission form, the parent/guardian must actively check a mandatory consent checkbox confirming they are the child's parent/guardian and consent to participation.

NGO Oversight & Supervision

  • All child participation is facilitated and supervised by Stand N Stride Foundation, a registered NGO with an established child welfare mandate.
  • Stand N Stride maintains safeguarding protocols and trained personnel to oversee all activities involving children.
  • Just For Purpose operates as the platform; Stand N Stride is the institutional guardian and program administrator for all child artists.
  • Financial management: all proceeds are disbursed by Stand N Stride Foundation directly to educational expenses — not as cash to minors.

Photography & Media

  • Images and videos of children are used only with explicit, written parental consent.
  • Children are never photographed or filmed in settings that could be considered exploitative, humiliating, or undignified.
  • All media is taken in safe, supervised environments with the child's comfort as priority.
  • We do not share identifying details (home address, school name, personal contact information) of any child publicly.

Anti-Exploitation Commitments

  • Participation is entirely voluntary. Children are never coerced, pressured, or incentivised in ways that could compromise their free will.
  • Children have the right to withdraw from the program at any time, for any reason, without consequence.
  • No child is made to feel guilty, shamed, or pressured about their participation or withdrawal.
  • Activity hours are reasonable and age-appropriate. No extended or exhausting work schedules.
  • No child is denied rest, food, or educational time for program activities.

Social Media & Content Use Policy

📸 All content featuring children — including photos, videos, artwork, and initiative stories — is published only with explicit, written parental or guardian consent, in compliance with the DPDP Act 2023, IT Act 2000, and the Juvenile Justice Act.

  • Explicit consent required: Before any photo, video, artwork, name, or story of a child is published on any platform — including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, the JFP website, print materials, or press releases — the parent or legal guardian must provide explicit written consent via the participation form.
  • Purpose-limited use: Content is used exclusively for educational, promotional, and social impact purposes — to showcase the child's achievements and inspire others. Content will never be used for commercial exploitation, third-party advertising, or in contexts that could harm the child's dignity or wellbeing.
  • Anonymity protection: Children will never be identified by their full name, home address, school name, and location together in a single public post. Only a first name or an anonymized identifier (e.g., "Class 8 student from Delhi") is used in public content unless the parent has explicitly consented to full name use.
  • Right to withdrawal: Parents and guardians may withdraw their media consent at any time by emailing contact@justforpurpose.com with the subject line "Consent Withdrawal — [Child's first name]". Upon withdrawal, all published content featuring the child will be removed within 7 working days.
  • Legal compliance: This policy is framed in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 (which requires verifiable parental consent before processing personal data of children under 18), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act. JFP does not collect Aadhaar or other sensitive KYC data of minors through digital forms.
  • NGO oversight: All media featuring children is reviewed and approved by Stand N Stride Foundation before publication to ensure safeguarding standards are met.
